Great news for former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly on his birthday. It is reported that the name of the former captain of India and former president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to be included in the Hall of Fame of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Times of India journalist Gauram Gupta has shared the update on his social media account ‘X’. The social media post read, “Former India captain Sourav Ganguly is about to be inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame; what good news on his birthday.”

Sourav Ganguly’s remarkable tenure with ICC and BCCI
It is noteworthy that Ganguly served as the 35th President of BCCI from October 23, 2019 to October 18, 2022, before which another former India cricketer Roger Binny took over from him.
According to previous rumors, Ganguly was also in the race to become ICC chief. But, in fact, he held the position of Chairman of the ICC Men’s Cricket Committee from November 17, 2021, with the re-appointment taking place in April 2025.
