Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has taken the post of cab president from his brother Sneesh Ganguly. After playing his new role, which he had earlier held till 2019, he has responded to the speculation of the next BCCI president, replacing Roger Binny.

Managerial roles in many cricket boards are watching many changes. The Cricket Association of Bengal recently concluded its annual general meeting and appointed its officials for the coming years.

On the other hand, BCCI is ready to appoint a new President, which will replace former President Roger Binny. After crossing the age limit of 70 years, Binny was removed from his role as per BCCI rules.

Sourav Ganguly becomes an unopposed president of the cab

Cab elections are scheduled to be held on 22 September, when the annual general meeting is going to be held. However, Sourav Ganguly was confirmed as CAB President’s return as his nomination was confirmed, as no other nomination was filed for the post.

He said, “I would like to thank everyone for his support. In the cab, there is no opposition, everyone is a part of this association. We will work together to take all the cab and Bengal cricket forward,” he said, as is quoted by the cricketer.

He was elected unopposed and would replace his elder brother, Sneesish Ganguly, who has taken over since 2019, when Sourav left the position to play the role of BCCI President.

Ganguly said after being selected, “India’s Test match against Eden Gardens – Eden Africa, T20 World Cup, Bengal Pro T20 League.

On the other hand, the Cricket Association of Bengal has sent the requirement of Sourav Ganguly as its representative at the upcoming annual general meeting, which is also lucky to select his president.

The annual general meeting of the BCCI is to be held on 26 September, and there is speculation that Ganguly, which was previously seen in the role from 2019 to 2022, may be reprimanded.

“Do not believe anything,” Sourav Ganguly told the media in Kolkata on Sunday (14 September), when the possibility of returning as the Chairman of the Board of Control for Cricket in India in India.

Speaking about his team, Ganguly said, “Bablu Koli is very experienced. It is important to have someone with his experience and knowledge. Nitish Ranjan Dutta, Madan Mohan Ghosh and Sanjay Das are also experienced and have long been in this field. All his experience will be very helpful for Bengal cricket.”
