South African spinner Simon Harmer, who boasts a genuine batting record in first-class cricket, was dismissed cheaply by Jasprit Bumrah for the third consecutive time.
The Proteas went ahead much longer than expected, thanks to Senuran Muthusamy’s extraordinary century and Marco Jansson’s explosive innings. South Africa batted for most of the second day and extended the innings in the third session, reaching 450 runs.

India had to struggle for wickets on the second day of the Guwahati Test. The first session went without any wicket while in the second session Ravindra Jadeja got a breakthrough. Muthusamy was finally out in the final session off the bowling of Mohammed Siraj.
Jasprit Bumrah was then recalled into the attack against his favorite victim Simon Harmer. Bumrah has dismissed Harmer in all three matches of this Test series.
Pitching it on and around the off-stump, the ball veered away from the bat and started breaking the off stump of the Protea no. 10.Harmers bowled by Bumrah have been the attraction of this series.
