According to a PTI report, Rinku Singh is not guaranteed a place in the India T20I Squad for the upcoming Asia Cup, which will be played in the UAE.
Rinku Singh is undergoing a rough patch

Shubman Gill threatens Rinku Singh’s location in India’s squad
India’s squad for the Asia Cup 2025 is to be declared on Tuesday, and the selection of Shubman Gill is talking the biggest talk. There have been conflicting reports about his inclusion in the squad, and according to the latest report, his presence may be a threat to Rinku Singh.
Left -handed batsman Rinku Singh’s position in the team has come under investigation, and he is not guaranteed a place for the Asia Cup 2025 and ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
India’s top five include Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Tilak Verma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya, if everything goes well. Even Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill – India’s two most promising batsmen – are not automated options.
Allegedly, the idea behind Rinku’s potential snub could be Gautam Gambhir’s inclination towards multi-skilled cricketers.
If Rinku Singh is not chosen to perform finishing duties, India can go with Shivam Dubey, who can roll his arms, or Jitesh Sharma, who is seen as a back-up wicketkeeper-blessed.

A former member of the BCCI Selection Committee said that India’s T20I team is not a place for the choice of Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill, and only Rinku Singh is in danger.
“We often hear people saying this, someone should do so, but no one will definitely tell us ‘in whose place’? Shreyas Iyer has 600 runs on a strike-vet of 180, but he is a bats in the top four. The place for him where you include Shubman because he tastes the weather, where you cut the corner.”
“You can’t bother your top five right now and also choose Shubman. And if you choose Shubman, obviously the Test Captain and the captain of the IPL team will not sit out.”
