The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday (July 13) announced the nominees for the men’s and women’s Player of the Month awards for June 2026, and two Indian stars, Shubman Gill and Sri Charnani have made the final shortlist.
Shubman Gill, Sri Charani shortlisted for ICC Player of the Month awards for June 2026
India’s Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill is one of three candidates nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award after another outstanding month with the bat. Earlier, Wimbledon had given royal treatment to Shubman Gill.
Bangladesh all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain and New Zealand fast bowler Nathan Smith also earned nominations after putting in match-winning performances for their teams.
The global body has also announced three nominees for the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for June 2026 following their impressive performances during the recently concluded ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 in England.
Scotland captain Katherine Bryce has been shortlisted after leading her team with outstanding performances. India’s rising spin star Sri Charani also earned a nomination after his stellar performances during the tournament.
England batsman Dannii Wyatt-Hodge was the final finalist as she was nominated after her remarkable performances, which helped England reach the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.
