The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the winner of the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for July 2025. Team India Test captain Shubman Gill won the prestigious award due to his outstanding batting performance in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 series led by Ben Stokes.
Gill has won the ICC Player of the Month Award for the fourth time. He also won the award in February 2025, January 2023 and September 2023. He is the first male cricketer to reach this milestone, with only Aish Gardner and Hail Mathews Women’s players several times.

Shubman Gill received the ICC Player of the Month Award for July after a tough competition with Ben Stokes of England and Vian Malder of South Africa. Gill said that the name of the ICC Player of the Month is great, saying that it came after his first test series as a captain.

Gill said, “It is very good to name the ICC Player of the Month for July. This time it holds great importance as it came to my performance during my first test series as a captain,” Gill said.

Shubman Gill became the first Indian captain to score a double century in England
Shubman Gill played an important role in India’s victory at Edgbaston, scored 269 runs in the first innings and helped secure 336 runs in 161. His 430-Run in the match rank as the second largest in total testing history, only behind 456 of Graham Gooch.
Gill became the first Indian captain to score a dual century in England and the second Indian captain, who achieved double hundred abroad after Virat Kohli.
His form was submerged at Lord’s with a score of 16 and 6, but bounced back with 103 runs at Old Trafford, making India an important draw. He ended a five-observance series with 754 runs at an impressive average of 75.40 with 754 runs, earning the Player of the Series Award.
