Before the start of the Asia Cup, India Test Captain Shubman Gill, who was recently known for suffering from a viral flu, was going to undergo some fitness tests at the center of the BCCI’s Center of Excellence in Bangalore, while many others have already knocked on the door of someone, according to TOI.

After a hard -working series in England, after a month’s holiday from the game, Indian cricketers, including Shubman Gill, will have to conduct a fitness test to ensure their availability for selection in upcoming events, according to the BCCI rules.

Apart from this, many other people have also reached COE to check their fitness ahead of the much awaited Asia Cup 2025, which is about to start on 9 September, and therefore the players are expected to leave the country by next week.

Shubman Gill is likely to be checked in coa before the Asia Cup

Indian Test captain Shubman Gill is nominated at the Asia Cup Squad, who made headlines for his return to the T20I side, and was also named as the vice-captains of the side.

He was discovered with a viral flu, which led to him out of the initial game for the Dalip Trophy, which is scheduled to begin on August 28. Sources in the Times of India have learned that nothing was serious in his blood report, and therefore, Shubman Gill would soon return to full-folded training.

The disease did not allow the 25-year-old to ensure its participation in the Dalip Trophy, resulting in the North Zone to lead the East Zone in the early game of the domestic season by Shubman Gill’s deputy, Vice-Capten Ankit Kumar.

Other players under COE’s fitness investigation after India vs England Test series

Some other players coming from the series in England include the choice of Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh and Sai Sudarshan. The improvement series was part of the XI playing in three Tests, but not part of the Asia Cup squad.

On the other hand, Kuldeep and Arshdeep did not play a single game in England, so their gap increased since their final international appearance. Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, and Sai Sudarshan are doing their regular fitness training, while Mohammad Siraj is also expected to join the COE soon.

Sudarson needs to target fitness in front of the squad selection for the home series against the West Indies. Hardik Pandya was also in Koa with Shreyas Iyer to investigate his fitness and is now practicing in Baroda before leaving for the Asia Cup.

Rishabh Pant can also start his rehabilitation soon

India’s first choice wicket-keeper batsman Rish Pant, who put a stunning and brave show in England, was dropped out in Manchester after a bad injury, which fractured his right leg.

He played brilliantly in the series and will be eager to play a home series against the West Indies after remembering the Asia Cup. He will probably start his rehabilitation soon in BCCI COE.

All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, who was forbidden to suffer after the Lord’s Test, is recovering in Koa, since he flew in between through the Anderson-Tendulkar series. The all-rounder was also not considered for the Asia Cup squad and is likely to take some more time for recovery.
