Everything was going India’s way as Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer put up a brilliant 100-run partnership and put England under immense pressure, but the momentum was badly hit when the captain looked uncomfortable and stopped in the middle of the field.

Gill took off his gloves and bowed down on the pitch. He was seen holding the back of his right leg and was clearly in pain. This left everyone confused whether it was just cramps or a hamstring injury.

The Indian team physio immediately took care of Gill on the field. The physio stretched Gill’s right leg to reduce the pain. After this, the Indian captain’s back was also massaged, while the medical staff kept checking his condition.

Earlier, it looked like the Indian captain was suffering from cramps when he resumed batting after brief treatment. However, after a few overs the pain returned and the physio came to the field and this time Gill decided not to continue batting and went back to the dressing room.
