In an important development, Team India’s Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill has fully recovered from his neck injury ahead of the third and final ODI against South Africa. According to reports, the right-handed batsman is fully fit and will be available for the upcoming five-match T20 series against South Africa.
Gill suffered a neck injury while attempting a sweep shot in the first Test in Kolkata, due to which he had to miss the rest of the match. Due to injury, he was also ruled out of the second Test and three-match ODI series. The batsman remained under the supervision of BCCI medical staff at the Center of Excellence in Bengaluru.
Shubman Gill declared fit for all formats before the third ODI
Shubman Gill returned to the Indian T20 team under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav. However, his inclusion was dependent on fitness, as the BCCI had stated that he would be cleared to play only after passing the required fitness tests at the Center of Excellence.
Gill has now completed his rehabilitation and has received full clearance from the medical team. According to RevSportz, after meeting every fitness criteria, he has been declared fit for all formats.
“Shubman Gill has been declared fit for all formats after completing his rehab at the CoE and meeting all fitness criteria,” RevSportz reported.
