Team India’s leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi praised his former Lucknow Super Veterans (LSG) captain KL Rahul with the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, which was set to start on 9 September. Bishnoi said that when the right -handed batsman got in the rhythm, he came under pressure.
KL Rahul impressed the top of the order during the England series. He scored 532 runs in an average of 10 innings above 53, including two centuries and two half -centuries. Rahul ended the series as the third largest run-scorer of the series, with only Shubman Gill and Joe Root scored more than them.

Bishnoi said that Rahul’s current success is the result of his constant hard work, and when the batsman is in his best, his game is so elegant that it demands to be seen in praise.
Bishnoi said, “KL Rahul class is different, if he is in the flow, no one comes close to him. I think he was going through his best stage, from the Champions Trophy to the IPL to England’s test, he was fantastic,” Bishnoi said.
“In England, he stood in a difficult time, his presence assured him. It is not easy to get him out once in which he was on the show in England. When he is batting in his best, you leave everything and see his batting. His hard work stops his payment,” he said.
KL Rahul exits India’s T20I squad
KL Rahul was left out of India’s T20I squad for the 2025 Asia Cup despite a strong performance in domestic and franchise cricket. He last represented India in T20Is during the 2022 World Cup, as he no longer fits the team’s aggressive, young-centered approach.
Rahul is a prominent player in India’s test and ODI setup, but the selectors have liked young batsmen like Abhishek Sharma, Yashsvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson and Shubman Gill in the T20I format.
Rahul excelled with Delhi Capital in IPL 2025, scored 539 runs in 15 matches at a strike rate of 149.72. He has played 72 T20I matches, at an average of 37.75 and a strike rate of 2,265 runs and 139.13, including two centuries and 22 fifties. He is one of the few Indians who score hundreds in all three formats.
Ravi Bishnoi Asia Cup left from India’s squad for 2025
Ravi Bishnoi made his debut in international cricket against the West Indies in February 2022, where he took 2/17 and won the Player of the Match award. He earned the Player of the Series Award against Australia in December 2023.
Lucknow Super Veteran (LSG) got him Rs. 4 crore ahead of IPL 2022 season. Bishnoi took 16 wickets in 2023 and helped the team reach the playoffs. However, he declined in 2024 and 2025.
This year, the 24-year-old took only 9 wickets in 11 matches in the 10.83 economy and even struggled on spin-friendly one-pitched pitches. Bishnoi last played for India against England in January, raced for three wickets in the fourth match. The spinner was ignored for the Asia Cup 2025.
