Shubman Gill returns to the nets amid BCCI summons
After the tiring series in England, when the Indian players returned to the country, they all moved to a hibernating phase because they had rested. Shubman also moved to his hometown Chandigarh.
However, the batsman was selected in the North Zone Squad for the Dilip Trophy and was also named as the side skipper. On the other hand, he was also selected in the Indian Asia Cup squad for 2025.
Gill was reported to be suffering from some types of viral fever, which feared fans of ICT as some felt that the unhealthy vice-captains of the T20I squad missed the Continental Championships. Shubman Gill missed the Duleep Trophy game for the north region due to illness
Shubman Gill was to lead the North Region in the Dalip Trophy; However, his viral flu kept him out of participation, as Haryana -based deputy, as Ankit Kumar, was declared for Gill, currently leading him against the eastern region.
After missing from the Duleep Trophy, it was reported that all the medical blood test reports of Gill are now fine, and so they have been called the Center of Excellence to investigate the final fitness before setting them with the Indian Asia Cup squad.
Shubman will lead India in the Home Test series against West Indies
Gill is now seen practicing in a local feature and is expected to go to the BCCI Center of Excellence soon, where he will have to do a regular fitness test before the multi-team tournament.
Although Shubman Gill will play for India in the upcoming Asia Cup, he will resume India from the test series against the West Indies from October 2.
However, the Asia Cup begins on 9 September, while India marks the start of the tournament on 10 September and the same group will accompany Pakistan, UAE and Oman.
