Well, the right -handed batsman is still a major part of India’s test and ODI setup, and has already made his intentions clear that he still belongs to T20Is. Rahul changed his head in IPL 2025 with his brilliant performance for Delhi capitals.
He scored 539 runs in 15 matches at the Blistering Strike Rate of 149.72. However, it was Rahul’s adaptability, anchoring at the top and shifting gear in the middle order, in IPL 2025, which affected all. Rahul also admitted that he worked on his game with Abhishek Sharma.

Raina said that Rahul’s class, composition, and sharp cricketing brain is something that India may again need in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The former World Cup winner still feels that India needs Rahul’s services, demanding both firepower and cunning with T20 cricket.
Suresh Raina said on the podcast of Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube channel, “See, KL Rahul has a nature. People think that T20 is a very fast game where you only need to hit the shots, but class, nature, and sports awareness does not come overnight, so I think he will do a lot of work.”

Earlier, KL Rahul had said that he feels confident about his recent performances. He had admitted that his goals were his goals after returning to T20Is and playing in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, but he wanted to live in the moment. His comments came in view of his amazing IPL 2025 shows.
Rahul had said, “Yes, I want to come back to the T20I team, and the World Cup is in my mind, but for now it is just trying to enjoy how I am playing right now.”
