Speaking on Sky Sports, Michael Atherton appreciated Sir for his outstanding performance and said:
“It has been an excellent performance from Gill-a completely chancesless innings. He did not look like a sniffing at any moment England and all about it is an air of imperative about it. He is a grand driver through off-side, such a flowing game.”
He also said that the English team became unwell as India dominated the match. He said:
“It has been rejected to England. It is when a team is completely at the top, like India – you lose a little in the field.”
