Shubman Gill’s questions injured Akash deeply about taking injections

India is upset with the English batsmen during the final innings of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025.

The England National Cricket Team has made life difficult for Indian bowlers and kept Shubman Gill under tremendous pressure chasing the target.

As Harry Brook and Joe Root were taking the Indian bowlers to the cleaner, Shubman Gill asked the injured Akash to be ready to bowl the ball despite suffering a blow just before lunch.

In particular, Akash Deep was hit on his calf when Harry Brook delivered directly to the bowler during the morning session at 4 of the fifth Test.

After lunch, Shubman Gill used Mohammad Siraj and Prasad Krishna before bringing it to Washington Sundar, who could not do any harm.

The Indian captain then decided to return the speed, and asked Akash deep, “Injection you?” Gill meant his pace to ask if he had taken a pain reliever and was ready to bowl.

He was desperate to bring Akash deep into the attack, and former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar said, while speaking on-air, said: “This shows that Gill wants to go back to speed again after lunch.”

India will have to do the same in England’s first innings – Dinesh Karthik

Speaking before playing at day 4, former India wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik said that the spin-bouling would play a big role in the final innings.

“India would have to do what he did in the first innings of England and bowl at a very high speed – but I think Spin will play a role. It will be a big part? It can be forced whether fast bowlers do not strike quickly, but ideally Passers should take 60–70 percent wickets,” Karthik said during Sky Sports.

Karthik said, “There will be a big role to play the role of Seamers Deep and Siraj. The deep ball is taken away from the seam and looks like a person who can get wickets – if he gets his length correct and kills that eight -meter mark,” Kartik said.

Meanwhile, former India head coach Ravi Shastri said that England need to bat with their skins to work. He said:

“There is a lot of grass on the surface, so things will happen quickly, so if England stops here too, I think he would have done double work that he did in Headingly. He would have to get out of his skin.”
