Shubman Gill will be seen in action in the Asia Cup 2025 next time and can open batting with Abhishek Sharma. Team India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, will launch its campaign against UAE on 10 September and will face the arch-rivals Pakistan at Dubai International Stadium on 14 September.

Gill recently captained India in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. His first series as a test skipper ended in 2–2 draw. India played without retired veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Gill scored 754 runs in 10 innings of 75.40, including four centuries.
The 25 -year -old won the Player of the Series Award for his stellar batting performance. Gill has scored 2,647 runs in 37 Tests at an average of 41.35, with nine centuries and seven half -centuries.
He scored 1,346 runs in 15 tests against England at an average of 51.76, including six centuries. Against Australia, he has 537 runs in nine tests (average 35.80), and against New Zealand, 324 runs in five tests (average 32.40).
