Vaughan said on Cricbuzz, “Bridan Cars made a great magic. It was not Shubman Gill who batted in Headingly and Edgbaston.”
“I think there should be two of them, because for the first time in the series, he played and four of the nine deliverys missed the delivery. He hasn’t seen a quiet gill, which I have seen in the entire Test match series so far, and this is just the pressure of this Test match.”
Shubman Gill scored a run-gold in the five-match Test series so far
Shubman Gill entered the third Test after scoring two centuries and a double hundred in the last matches. However, the right -handed batsman failed to distribute with the bat, managing just 22 runs in two innings.
The Indian captain was rejected by Chris Woakes in the first innings. Gill came to the crease 4 days late after Karun Nair’s dismissal in the second innings and looked uncomfortable against Bridan Cars and Ben Stokes.
Gill was initially caught behind for just 2, but the decision was overturned after a successful review. Some delivery later, he was implicated by Cars LBW. After taking the review, the ball tracking confirmed three raids, ending their knock.
I think Yashasvi Jaiswal comes with that mindset – Dinesh Karthik
Dinesh Karthik opened about the initial dismissal of Yashasvi Jaiswal in the second innings. Karthik said that the young opener came out with a point to prove against Joffra Archer. He said that the left -handed batsman would have played delivery differently without ego.
“You are out for a full jafa for a bowler and you have thought a lot about it, and you said,” Okay, I’m going to pick him up, if he gives it short, I am going to pull it, and I am going to play the statement, “Dinesh Karthik explained.
“I think Jaiswal came with that mindset, because a quiet Yashsvi or Yashsavi who was played in Edgbaston or Leeds must have said that he was just a bang, because it was a cut ball, the best. The best. The ego was probably hurting a little bit (in the first innings), he said.
India started their second innings on disappointing notes. Yashasvi Jaiswal was rejected for duck in the second over. He attempted an aggressive bridge shot for a small and wide delivery, but gave it a simple catch to Jamie Smith and gave it incorrectly.
