Recently, former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Saba Karim feels that Iyer now needs to prove himself as India’s captain. He believes that Shreyas should use the same smart captaincy and game plan that helped him succeed in the IPL while leading the Indian team.
“I think the time has come for Shreyas Iyer to establish himself as a captain. The tactical captaincy that we have seen from him in the IPL has not been seen yet in international cricket. It may be that he will take time to develop into this role,” Karim said on GeoHotstar.
