Indian vice-captain Shreyas Iyer is making a comeback in ODIs after missing the South Africa home series due to injury. On his return, Iyer has made a game-changing impact before even picking up the bat.
India and New Zealand are set for an exciting series, which includes ODI as well as T20I matches. The ODI match began today at the Vadodara Cricket Association Stadium with India asking the Kiwis to bat first. This is the second consecutive toss that India has won in an ODI match.
However, this New Zealand team is not the best team, as their captain Mitchell Santner is not playing the game and even their star batsmen Kane Williamson and Rachin Ravindra are not part of the series in India for the 50-over format.
Captain Michael Bracewell stayed away from his crease on Shreyas Iyer’s bullet throw.
There is a light altercation between Daryl Mitchell and Harshit Rana with bat and ball, as well as exchange of glances and words. It was during one such over from Rana, when Mitchell bowled a yorker towards the long-on region and went hard to complete the double.
Captain Michael Bracewell was running towards the edge of danger; However, the bowler was out of position, and by the time he reached Bracewell, he would have made his ground. But in an extraordinary effort, Shreyas Iyer hit the stumps straight and Bracewell was well away from his crease.
