Shreyas Iyer created another record of his own in the ongoing Tata Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL). As soon as he was made the captain of Punjab Kings (PBKS) on 61 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).scheduled tribe IPL 2026 match at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamshala.
This was Shreyas Iyer’s 100 runsth IPL matches as a captain. When both the captains came in between at the time of toss, Iyer was informed about the record.

The PBKS captain said he had no idea that this was going to be his 100th League matches as a captain.
“I’m not going to get into the stats; we’re obviously watching how the game progresses. If we bat and bowl well, the toss doesn’t matter. I really had no idea it was my 100th game as a captain, but it feels great. It feels like a great opportunity for me to win my 100th game (as captain).” Shreyas Iyer said. After winning the toss, Iyer decided to bowl first against RCB at their home ground.

Due to 5 consecutive defeats, they have slipped from first place to fourth place in the rankings. Punjab will aim to win at any cost today to break the deadlock by defeating the strong Royal Challengers Bangalore.
