‘Shreyas Iyer is someone I like’

Bigg Boss OTT 3 winner and model-actress Sana Maqbul was asked to name a cricketer with whom she would like to date. Without any delay, Sana took the name of Team India cricketer and Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer.

Sana Maqbul directly said that she has a crush on the cricketer. During a conversation with Filmygyan, the Bigg Boss OTT 3 champion winner was asked to name the cricketer she has a crush on.

Sana told that she likes cricketer Shreyas Iyer very much, who is special for her. She was mesmerized after seeing Shreyas Iyer’s catch. However, Sana feels that maybe she will never be able to date with Shreyas.

Sana Maqbul said in the interview, “Shreyas Iyer. Recently, what a catch he was. I like cricketers. If Shreyas Iyer asks me, I would love to go on a date with him. I think he is someone I like. I mean, I can’t fool him like that, I know.”

Iyer and Punjab Kings are in deep trouble

It is widely known that Shreyas Iyer is one of the most famous captains of the Indian Premier League. However, he and his team Punjab Kings are now standing in a do or die situation.

The team which was just an inch away from making it to the playoffs of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026), is now on the verge of being eliminated. Their fortunes now largely depend on their last group match, which will be against Lucknow Super Giants on May 23.

Punjab Kings will have to defeat Lucknow tomorrow to maintain their chances of making the playoffs. Currently they are in 5^th Position in the points table of 10 teams with 13 points from the same number of matches. At one point in the IPL 2026 season, Punjab was on top of the points table as the only undefeated team. Then, they started a losing streak, which they are still continuing.

If they continue their poor form against Lucknow Supergiants, they will have to take the exit gate. This will be a big blow for the team, as they finished runners-up in the IPL 2025 campaign.

On an individual basis, Iyer’s overall batting statistics are not bad as he has so far scored 397 runs in 12 innings at an average of 44.11 and a strike rate of 162.70, which includes five half-centuries.

Iyer has been named the vice-captain of Team India for the ODI series vs Afghanistan

After the conclusion of IPL 2026, Indian cricket stars will have to start their preparations before facing Afghanistan. Afghanistan will tour India for a Test and an ODI series.

Iyer has been selected for the three-match ODI series, which is scheduled to begin in Dharamsala from June 14. The Punjab Kings captain has been appointed as the vice-captain of the Men in Blue brigade for the 3-match One Day International series against the Afghanistan cricket team.
