Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Match No. 24, Mumbai Indians (MI) host Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Shreyas Iyer won the toss and decided to bowl first. During the match, PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer along with Xavier Bartlett took a teamwork catch to dismiss Hardik Pandya.
17.3 overs in, Shreyas started inches away from the ropes and was immediately in danger. He leapt back in one smooth move, hovering in the air as his hands closed around the ball. There was no earth or balance beneath him to rely on, only instinct.

Even in those windy conditions, he had the foresight to turn it back to Xavier Bartlett with great control. It wasn’t just athleticism; It was awareness under pressure. As Shreyas regained his footing, he silently nodded to the spotlight, as if he knew what he had just achieved – because moments like this don’t demand attention; They demand it.
MI made two forced changes as Rohit Sharma was injured and Mitchell Santner was unwell, and Quinton de Kock and Mayank Rawat came in for the Blues. After winning the toss, it was a wonderful start from Punjab as MI were reduced to 12/2 in the space of two balls. Arshdeep Singh took two wickets.
De Kock finished with an unbeaten score of 112 runs.
