Bangladesh fast bowler Shoriful Islam has made some bold decisions while ranking some of the greatest fast bowlers in cricket history, including Waqar Younis, Mitchell Starc, Wasim Akram and Jasprit Bumrah, in a video shared by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on social media.
During a fun comparison game on the Char Chokka podcast, Islam declared India’s Jasprit Bumrah the best fast bowler of all time, while the paparazzi’s witty reaction won hearts online. Bumrah is one of the greatest fast bowlers of this generation across all formats and has won many matches for India by performing well in difficult moments.

Shoriful Islam’s bold decision on the best fast bowler of all time goes viral
The rapid-fire challenge started with Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga and Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman. Shoriful Islam supported Malinga without any hesitation. When Malinga was compared to Mitchell Starc, Shorifull picked the senior Australian left-arm pacer.
He surprisingly chose Starc, one of the fastest bowlers across all formats, over legendary bowlers like Brett Lee, Trent Boult and Kagiso Rabada. However, when the Australian fast bowler squared off with James Anderson, Shoriful felt the England legend was more dangerous than Starc, despite Starc only dominating the Test format.
The Bangladesh bowler preferred Anderson over Australian captain and one of the dangerous fast bowlers of this generation, Pat Cummins. The next comparison brought another twist. When Anderson was pitted against Wasim Akram, Shoriful chose the Pakistan legend.

Shoriful Islam chose Jasprit Bumrah as the best ‘pace king’
But the biggest surprise came when Wasim Akram was compared with Jasprit Bumrah. The Bangladesh fast bowler favored the Indian superstar and even left behind South African great Dale Steyn, Pakistan speed icon Shoaib Akhtar and legendary fast bowler Waqar Younis.
By the end of the challenge, Shorifull made it clear that Jasprit Bumrah is above all these legendary names and is the greatest fast bowler among them. Notably, Bumrah was rested for India’s ongoing home series against Afghanistan as well as the upcoming Ireland and England tours.

Shoriful Islam’s career-best 6/48 goes in vain as Cooper Connolly saves Australia
Meanwhile, Shoriful Islam made a brilliant comeback and produced the best bowling performance of his ODI career against Australia in the third and final match in Mirpur on Sunday. Playing his first game of the series, the left-arm pacer finished with excellent figures of 6/48.
Tauheed Hridoy’s brilliant 83 runs and unbeaten half-centuries from Liton Das and Mosaddek Hossain helped Bangladesh score 274/5 against Australia in the final ODI. Defending the target, Shoriful dismissed captain Josh Inglis and then dismissed Matt Renshaw early on.
The fast bowler continued to trouble Australia and later dismissed Oliver Peak and Xavier Bartlett on consecutive balls. He also dismissed Marnus Labuschagne and Ben Dwarshuis with career-best figures.
However, Cooper Connolly played a brilliant inning of 149 runs off 134 balls to help Australia avoid an embarrassing elimination by defeating Bangladesh by one wicket. Although Bangladesh lost the match, they won the first two matches against Australia to win the ODI series 2–1.
