Shocking! MS Dhoni left CSK due to deterioration in relations due to arrival of Sanju Samson

Imagine MS Dhoni playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL), but for a team other than Chennai Super Kings (CSK). This sounds strange and may be stressful or impossible, right? But, considering the current circumstances, there is a possibility of separation of the veteran cricketer and the franchise after the conclusion of the current season.

This is the first time that MS Dhoni is going to miss every match of an IPL season. The team still has one more match left in the group stage and again, Dhoni is unlikely to feature. On several occasions, be it the head coach or anyone else in the team, he had claimed that the 44-year-old was not fit to take the field, while Dhoni was looking fine in the nets.

Why can MS Dhoni leave CSK?

Why he missed games in the IPL 2026 season is still unclear. Amidst all the speculation regarding the former captain, it is being claimed that the Chennai Super Kings franchise and MS Dhoni are not on the same page. The relations between the two parties become so bad that they cannot be repaired again. Hence, there is a high possibility of seeing Dhoni leave the Yellow camp after the conclusion of the season.

“The relationship between Dhoni and CSK has deteriorated to such an extent that Thala will not be seen in yellow after the 2026 IPL,” a source told Cricblogger. “So he completely ignored Dhoni this year, which upset him a lot.”

Management completely ignores MS Dhoni

The report further claims that some decisions related to the team building process were taken without consulting Dhoni. The trade deal involving Sanju Samson and Ravindra Jadeja was completed without his concern.

The report claimed, “Sources said the team management had not consulted Dhoni in the last two years. As previously reported by Cricblogger, Dhoni was extremely unhappy with the transfers involving Ravindra Jadeja and Sanju Samson, which were made without his knowledge. It is also learned that the CSK management has decided to build a new team for the future and gradually move on from senior players.”

Ravichandran Ashwin also had some doubts

CSK played its last home match in the current season on May 18 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. After the match, MSD held a felicitation ceremony in front of a packed MA Chidambaram Stadium. Was this a sign of retirement from his part? Suddenly speculations intensified.

Dhoni’s former teammate Ravichandran Ashwin noticed something wrong in the lap. During an online discussion, Ashwin claimed that there was something wrong during the lap; Dhoni’s natural smile was not there. But it should be because he loved the team very much.

“MS loves CSK a lot. Yesterday, when he was going on the lap (for the honour), I didn’t see that love. I just didn’t feel that happiness. Earlier, whenever he went around, he used to go with a lot of happiness. But yesterday felt different, I don’t know why,” Ravichandran Ashwin said.
