The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made some important call-ups ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026. Ayush Badoni and Priyansh Arya have been released by the Delhi Cricket Team as they are all set to join the India A-team ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Both these batsmen will be part of the India A team, which will play practice matches against senior teams. India A is scheduled to play USA in Navi Mumbai and Namibia in Bengaluru in T20 World Cup warm-up matches on February 2 and 6 respectively.
Delhi cricket team will miss a lot of star power.
In Badoni’s absence, Ayush Doseja will lead the Delhi cricket team in the seventh round of the premier first-class tournament against Mumbai. Delhi will face Mumbai at the MCA Cricket Ground in Mumbai on January 29 for the knockout match of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 season.
Before this match, Delhi cricket team is facing many problems. One of their star players Rishabh Pant will not be available to participate in this important match due to injury. He again got injured in his leg during the practice session with Team India. Now the absence of Badoni and Arya may put the team on the back foot against the strong Mumbai team.
However, Mumbai cricket team is also struggling with injuries. Star players like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shardul Thakur are not available for the match due to health and injury concerns respectively.
Badoni was also with the senior Indian team
Recently, Badoni was included in the national team for the first time after Washington Sundar was ruled out of the India vs New Zealand ODI. But did not get a chance to play for the senior team in the series.
Last year in November, the India A cricket team participated in the ACC T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2025. Priyansh Arya was present as a permanent player with the team and he formed a good combination with Vaibhav Suryavanshi for the opening slot. The team qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament, where they faced Bangladesh.
India vs Bangladesh match ended with super over
This tough match between India-A team and Bangladesh-A team ended through Super Over, which Bangladesh won.
Before the start of the Super Over, both the teams scored 194 runs in their respective 20 overs. During this time Ayush Badoni was not with the team. He got some encouragement recently in his professional career.
Delhi Ranji Trophy squad for the seventh round: Ayush Doseja (captain), Sanat Sangwam, Vaibhav Kandpal, Sumit Mathur, Pranab Rajvanshi, Siddhant Sharma, Dhruv Kaushik, Rahul Dagar, Anuj Rawat, Divij Mehra, Aryan Rana, Mani Grewal, Rohan Rana and Rahul Chaudhari.
