Mitchell Santner ruled out of IPL 2026
Santner’s injury problems began earlier this month during Mumbai Indians’ clash against Delhi Capitals on April 4. While fielding in that match, he suffered an injury to his non-bowling shoulder, which initially seemed manageable. However, due to discomfort he had to miss the next match against Rajasthan Royals on 7 April.
After a short recovery period, the left-arm spinner returned to action and featured against Royal Challengers Bangalore on 12 April. He also played against Gujarat Titans on 20 April, showing signs of regaining his rhythm. Unfortunately, during a high-pressure clash against Chennai Super Kings on 23 April, Santner again injured the same shoulder while fielding, which worsened matters and ultimately ended his campaign.
Despite limited appearances this season, Santner made useful contributions with the ball. He took five wickets in four matches and often provided control during the middle overs. His calm presence and ability to bowl in pressure situations made him a vital asset in Mumbai’s bowling setup.
