Pakistan cricket has been completely taken by storm after the crushing defeat to India in the T20 World Cup 2026 match in Colombo and Rawalpindi Express, Shoaib Akhtar has set the cricket world on fire with his explosive attack on the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and its Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

Akhtar openly questioned the ability of Naqvi, who is also the country’s interior minister, to run Pakistan cricket and also called him “incompetent” and “jaheel” for holding such a powerful position. He also emphasized that when leadership is weak the entire team suffers.

Speaking to ABP News, Shoaib Akhtar said: “Now, a man doesn’t even know that he is the president of the Pakistan Cricket Board. How will the team run now? You are telling a man, you have made him a superstar, he cannot win a single match. You have made him a star who cannot win a single match alive.”
Rawalpindi Express further said, “Brother, when you create such stars, when you choose them, when you choose them, this is the problem you will have. But then, if you see, do you know what is the biggest crime in the world? The biggest crime in the world is that you give a big job to an incompetent and ignorant person.”

But he didn’t stop there, as the former Pakistan fast bowler also criticized the continued support of senior stars like Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi and Shadab Khan, who all failed miserably against India. They are struggling to meet the demands of T20I cricket, yet they are achieving superstar status.
Akhtar said that Pakistan cricket has suffered loss by giving big responsibilities to people who are not capable. The former pace gun said, “When you give a big job to an incompetent and ignorant person, he will destroy the country. He will bring down any organisation. Shoaib Akhtar demands accountability and hopes for Super 8 miracle
Furthermore, the former Pakistan fast bowler has demanded strict accountability from both the PCB and senior players after the team’s poor performance against India. Well, the Men in Green’s hopes of making it to the Super 8 round of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026 were badly hit after their humiliating defeat against India on Sunday.
However, Akhtar is still hopeful that Pakistan can beat Namibia and qualify for the Super 8 stage and said that he will continue to support the national team and that is all he can do.
He signed off by saying, “India has gone too far, and we have fallen far behind. Now it’s all about TRP (television rating points). We won’t see any battle on the pitch, but I hope Pakistan can beat Namibia, reach the Super 8s, and some kind of miracle happens. I will continue to support Pakistan.”
