The India national cricket team is currently playing the England national cricket team in a 5-match T20I series in England. The next three-match ODI match is scheduled after the shorter format. India have already announced the squad for the upcoming ODI series but have made one change ahead of the series; Nitish Kumar Reddy is out of the series.
Shivam Dubey has been included in the ODI team in place of Nitish Kumar Reddy. This is a big boost for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder, as he was included in the squad as a replacement for Nitish Kumar Reddy and will join the rest of the squad after the T20I series. Dubey has been performing well for the team in the T20I format.
Shivam Dubey included in ODI team
Shivam Dubey has returned to the ODI team after almost two years. His last ODI match was against Sri Lanka in Colombo on August 7, 2024. Dubey has been a match-winner for the Men in Blue in the T20I format and has also been bowling well in recent times. This has been one of the major boosts for the team in the shorter format.
Dubey is a similar replacement to Nitish Reddy, but the former’s bowling has improved significantly, and he takes wickets at crucial moments for the team. The southpaw has scored just 43 runs in four matches for the national team and has taken one wicket with an economy of less than 6 in four matches.
