Shikhar Dhawan puts divine pressure on Virat Kohli to complete 100 international centuries

Former Indian batsman Shikhar Dhawan recently unveiled his autobiography, and during the event, he backed Virat Kohli to score 100 international centuries if he still has the hunger, despite playing only one format, and that too playing the least number of matches.

One of the most entertaining names in Indian cricket, former left-handed batsman Shikhar Dhawan recently unveiled his autobiography titled “The One: Cricket, My Life and More.” However, in keeping with the cricketer’s personality, the book launch seemed less like a literary event and more like dressing room gossip.

In the same program on NDTV in New Delhi, the former cricketer was asked about one Indian cricketer who still dominates the Indian cricket conversation and will continue to do so. Dhawan immediately reacted and took the name of his former teammate and long-time friend Virat Kohli.

Shikhar Dhawan supported Virat Kohli to score 100 international centuries

During the conversation, Dhawan himself claimed that Virat Kohli is undoubtedly one of the most famous figures of Indian cricket ever, and despite years of legacy, he is still a new name in the hearts of cricket fans.

Shikhar Dhawan wished, “I pray to God that he completes 100 centuries.” Virat Kohli has recently scored two consecutive centuries against South Africa and next time there will be expectations from him in the home series against New Zealand.

Kohli, who already has 84 international centuries to his name, is 16 behind master blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s record. Dhawan, on the other hand, praised Kohli’s remarkable fitness and his invisible enthusiasm.

“It depends on how hungry he is in his heart,” Dhawan said.

Dhawan issues warning to young players with uncomfortable honesty

Apart from praising others, Dhawan turned on his uncomfortable honesty mode as he recalled one of the most humiliating chapters of his life. He recalled that during his early playing days, he was caught walking hand in hand with his British girlfriend by a senior selector during India A’s tour of Australia.

After this, his form saw a major decline and he was soon dropped from the team. “I was young,” and “I met a girl at the airport, I toured with her, and it had consequences,” Dhawan claimed was the impact of something he shouldn’t have done then, rather than keeping it as a scandal.

This significantly affected Shikhar Dhawan’s career and possibly delayed his entry into senior level men’s cricket for India. He revealed that the reason for sharing this story is to caution a young player who may be at the same stage of his life.

Will Shikhar Dhawan enter ‘Bollywood’? Cricketer gave a big statement

Ever since Shikhar Dhawan retired from international cricket, he has not slowed down but has been turning the pitches upside down. He has turned to full-time content creation, as his Reels receive 20-50 million views.

“The fun must continue,” he laughed. “It’s part of my character. I enjoy doing it, and I enjoy making people happy.”

Dhawan has not closed down the possibility of someday entering the entertainment business and making his mark in Bollywood. When he was asked his opinion on whether he could be seen in Bollywood someday, he replied, “I make reels with passion,” he said. “Let’s see what opportunities nature brings.”
