In a major development, five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions, Mumbai Indians (MI) have traded star fast bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur from Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
Rumors of this trade have been doing the rounds for a while, and on Thursday, November 13, it was officially announced by the Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing Council that Mumbai all-rounder Shardul Thakur will be joining Mumbai Indians (MI).
Shardul Thakur traded from Lucknow Super Giants to Mumbai Indians
In an official statement released by the IPL Governing Council, it was mentioned that Shardul Thakur has been traded from LSG to MI for Rs 2 crore.
“Lucknow Super Giants all-rounder, Shardul Thakur is all set to represent Mumbai Indians, following the agreement between the two franchises. The Mumbai all-rounder was picked up by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 2 crore as an injury replacement for the 18th edition of the league, in which he featured in 10 matches.
“Shardul has been a useful player for the franchises he has represented and has performed well time and again. The all-rounder has been traded to Mumbai Indians for his current player fee of Rs 2 crore,” the statement said.
