On Thursday, November 13, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) announced the appointment of former Australia national cricket team all-rounder Shane Watson as their new assistant coach.

Shane Watson will be working with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) under new head coach Abhishek Nair for the next few seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL) starting from the 2026 edition.

In an official statement released by KKR, CEO Venky Mysore said that they are happy to have the services of Warsan, who understands the pulse of T20 cricket very well. He said:
