Pakistan’s great all-rounder Shahid Afridi has come under the scanner after an old picture of him with terrorist Uzair Baloch went viral on social media platforms. After the picture resurfaced, many fans are strongly criticizing the former Pakistan captain.
The viral photo is reportedly from 2013 and shows Afridi sitting for dinner with Uzair Baloch in Karachi. As soon as this picture went viral on social media, many people started questioning the great all-rounder’s relationship with the man who was one of the most dangerous criminals of Pakistan.
Uzair Baloch’s viral picture has put Shahid Afridi in trouble
Uzair Baloch was allegedly associated with the Lyari gang network in Karachi and was involved in gang violence, extortion, murders and drug crimes. Following his arrest in 2016, he became one of the most high-profile underworld criminals in Pakistan.

Afridi’s image shocked everyone as the blockbuster Bollywood film Dhurandhar featured a gangster character named Uzair Baloch, who was involved in anti-India activities. Due to this connection, Afridi’s image of speaking against India remains in the headlines.

Over the years, Afridi has made several anti-India comments and dragged Kashmir into India-Pakistan issues. Even the former Pakistani captain faced heavy criticism for his comments on Kashmir and Indian politics. Many times Afridi and Gautam Gambhir came face to face on social media.
During the India-Pakistan tensions in 2025 following the Pahalgam terror attack, Afridi openly supported the Pakistani Army and shared social media posts against India.
Here’s how fans reacted to the photo:

This is why Shahid Afridi hates Dhurandhar and after the release of the film he said that he does not trust anyone in Pakistan.
