Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Afridi opened about India captain Suryakumar Yadav’s claim that there is no real T20 rivalry between the two sides. Afridi said that the debate can happen only when both teams meet again in the Asia Cup 2025 finals, which is going to be played in Dubai on September 28, Sunday.
Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by five wickets at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on 23 September. Afridi, who struggled against India in the Super Four Clash, raised three wickets for 28 runs in four overs. Pakistan should win the remaining Super Four Match to be in controversy.
Let him say what he wants – Shaheen Afridi responded to Suryakumar Yadav’s claim
Suryakumar Yadav had said that Pakistan is struggling against India, saying that they have lost seven consecutive encounters in recent years. However, Shaheen Afridi said that both sides have reached the Asia Cup final so far. Afridi insisted that Pakistan’s only focus was winning the tournament.
Shaheen Afridi said, “Let him say what he wants. Neither he has yet reached the final, nor we have. We will see that when this moment comes. It is our job to win this moment. We have come to win the Asia Cup. We will perform our best.”
In Blue, men won against Pakistan, in which they extended the head records 12-3 in the T20I format by 12-3. Pakistan struggled to match India’s batting and bowling. India defeated Pakistan for the first time by seven wickets in the group match, followed by six wickets in the Super Four.
My job is to boost the morale of the team – Shaheen Afridi
Shaheen Afridi also said that his primary attention is to give his best in every aspect of the game. He said that, whether batting, bowling, or fielding, he always gives 100% and tries to uplift the morale of the team.
“Like the last two matches, the way you said about batting, my job is that whenever I get a situation, I bowl. Batting, fielding, bowling, whatever I get, I give my 100%. Because it is clear,” Shaheen said.
“Whenever I play, I try to give my 100%. Whether I am sick or injured, whatever I am, but it does not show it out. So my job is to boost the morale of the team and play all cricket with energy,” he said.
