Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Afridi was involved in a fierce exchange with Lahore Kalandars batsman Muhammad Naeem during the PSL 2025 season. Shaheen Afridi tried to destabilize Naeem with a sharp glare after his first delivery, but came into the batsman’s response style, sailing for the next ball six.
Mohammad Naeem played an important role in Lahore’s victory over Quetta Gladiators in the PSL 10 finals at Gaddafi Stadium. The right hand hand performed stability and firepower in the PSL season. He scored 314 runs in 12 matches and on an average strike rate of over 26 and about 163, including three fifties.
Pakistan to launch a three-series campaign against Afghanistan
Pakistan will start its three-series campaign against Afghanistan at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Friday, August 29. The final is scheduled to be held on 7 September between the top two sides, in which all matches are to be staged in Sharjah.
Salman Ali Aga, who has already led the national side in 18 matches, will captain the 17 -member Pakistan squad. The team has been in the UAE since August 20, the training session has been held and is practicing the game to play for the competition in Dubai.
For the three sides, the series will be an important preparation ahead of the Asia Cup, which will begin on 9 September in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Pakistan has won four of the seven T20s against Afghanistan.
Shaheen Afridi is struggling in forms in international cricket
Shaheen Shah is struggling in formats in international cricket losing his pace after Afridi injuries. The left -handed pace faced a knee injury in 2022 which brought him out of the Asia Cup and later harassed him during the T20 World Cup final against England in the same year.
Beyond the Asia Cup 2025, Afridi would be hoping to put those struggles behind and make a strong comeback. Along with Haris Rauf, he could provide Pakistan on the edge of the bite, which recently lacks limited over cricket.
The team enters the three-series under pressure after inconsistent batting and bowling performance. After the Tri-Series, Pakistan will join the Asia Cup, where they are ready to face India in Dubai on September 14, with another possibility of clashes if both sides progress in knockout stages.
