BCCI has revealed the schedule of India’s tour of Afghanistan, which will take place in June 2026. This series will mark a multi-format clash between the two Asian teams. Afghanistan will also face India in the only test.
The series is the last home series for India before they leave for England in July for a longer white-ball series, consisting of a five-match T20I series followed by an ODI series. India are currently attempting to play as many ODI matches as possible before heading to the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.

India to schedule multi-format white-ball series against England in 2026
Following the conclusion of the home series against Afghanistan, the Men in Blue will fly to England for a lengthy white-ball series, comprising five T20I games and three ODIs. Last year in 2025, Indian captain Shubman Gill made his Test captaincy debut from the England tour, and it will be an opportunity for the young captain to win the ODI series in 2025 after consecutive losses to Australia, South Africa and New Zealand in ODIs.
The tour will begin on July 1 when India take on England in a T20I, with the first match being played at the Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street. The other matches will be the fourth at Old Trafford, the seventh at Trent Bridge, the ninth at Bristol and the 11th at Southampton.
After the conclusion of the T20I series, there will be three ODI matches
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will get ample game time before the World Cup final
