The Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 will reach the halfway stage tomorrow when Delhi Capitals (DC) take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in match number 35 of the tournament. This is the first match of the double header on Saturday. Before the match, a fatality occurred, as the cricketer was taken to the hospital.
A Delhi Capitals bowler suffered serious injuries after being hit by a ball during a practice session a day before the DC vs PBKS match. According to the viral video on social media, the bowler was hit on the face by the ball. DC’s medical team attended to the net bowler at the stadium and an ambulance was called to the scene.
DC bowler escapes fatal injury
The DC bowler was kept on a stretcher before being taken to the hospital. Hopefully the bowler is fine and there is nothing serious. Updated information about the bowler’s health has not come yet. The identity of the net bowler has not been established yet, and additional information is also unknown but it is rumored to be Sahil Parakh.

The 18-year-old left-hander was picked up by the Capitals during the IPL 2026 auction but is yet to make an appearance. An update from the franchise is expected. This will be known after the pre-match press conference report for Capitals comes out.
Delhi Capitals is struggling with injuries
Delhi Capitals is struggling with injuries as the team’s key fast bowler Mitchell Starc is still unavailable due to a shoulder injury. Axar Patel himself retired hurt due to cramps in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). There has been no official update on the DC captain’s injury.
In the same game, Mukesh Kumar was also injured as he left the field after suffering a painful injury while attempting a diving save in the same game against RCB. Kumar held his nose and groaned in pain. He had to leave the field immediately with the team physio for treatment. But both the cricketers played the last match.
Delhi Capitals signed Rehan Ahmed
The Capitals had a good start in the IPL as they won the first two games, and then lost two, and then got back to winning ways only to suffer a defeat in their last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). They had to face defeat in the last game against SRH.
