Sanju Samson’s ENDGAME on a fatal flaw predicted by former India head coach

Whenever Sanju Samson comes on the field for Team India, the fans have a lot of expectations from him. He played two consecutive matches for India in the first two matches of the ongoing 5-match T20 series against New Zealand. Sanju Samson failed to perform well in both the matches.

In Nagpur, during the India vs New Zealand 1st T20I match, the batsman scored only 10 runs, followed by 6 runs in the India vs New Zealand 2nd T20I match in Raipur.

Sanju Samson may have to change his bat speed

For obvious reasons, the keeper-batsman’s poor form attracted a certain amount of scrutiny from cricket experts. After the Raipur match, former India women’s team head coach WV Raman explained why the batsman was unable to save his wicket.

According to him, the batsmen would have faced difficulties against the bowlers due to pace management issues. On both occasions, Sanju Samson struggled against the new ball and eventually lost his wicket. According to the experienced coach, the top-order batsman, who is now playing as an opener, needs to bat as per the pace of the game.

WV Raman advised Samson to improve his batting

Perhaps Sanju was in a bit of a hurry on both the occasions, due to which he had to get out. Raman paid attention to the speed of his bat.

Raman said, “Samson will remain inconsistent unless he adjusts his bat speed on the downswing in relation to the ball speed. In simple words, one cannot drive a car at the same speed all the time, everywhere.” In the modern era of cricket, batsmen are often looking to score runs at a fast pace.

Sometimes, an aggressive batting style seems elusive, but sometimes, it can lead to early losses, as was the case with Sanju Samson. he tried to put something extra Tej runs on the board with the bat, but the opposition bowlers might have already understood his movements and bowled accordingly.

In those two matches, the two fast bowlers helped New Zealand get rid of the batsmen. Matt Henry and Kyle Jamieson were the bowlers who took the wickets of Sanju Samson in two matches respectively.

Footwork may also need to be improved

After WV Raman’s social media post, a cricket fan targeted Samson’s footwork. According to cricket fans, Samson is probably using his back leg too much, due to which he is not able to move fast against the bowlers.

“Sir, another thing I noticed is that the weight is mainly on the backfoot, and he comes late to the ball, unable to time the ball, which adds to the above fact on the downswing. I would love to hear from you,” the cricket fan commented on Raman’s post. In response, the coach said that the matter is enough for discussion. “Good observation…I see what you mean…”, replied Raman.
