Sanju Samson has been India’s first choice wicketkeeper-batsman and opener in T20I cricket for a long time, but now it will have to fight Gloveman Jeetash Sharma for a place in XI.

The reason for this is that Shubman Gill has returned to the T20I Cup to the Asia Cup and has been nominated as the vice-captain, who guaranteed him a place as a opener with Abhishek Sharma, which was confirmed by BCCI chief selector Ajit Egkar that he is India’s first choice T20I Opener.

Sanju Samson, who performed well as a opener for India and broke several T20i tons, may have to bat in the middle order, where he does not have a good number, compared to Jitesh Sharma, who thrives as a finisher.

Samson would have expected to impress the team management in the nets to strengthen their case for selection, but unfortunately, wicketkeeper-batsman has faced some fitness issues.

According to Revsportz, Sanju Samson was launched in pain during India’s practice session at the ICC Academy on Saturday, 6 September. He was in an inconvenience while taking the throdown, and it comes as a massive blow for wicketkeeper-batman.

A set involves driving three distances, then the player repeats five consecutive times, with no comfort at a total of 1,200 meters.
