Young wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurel has been included in the Indian squad after Rishabh Pant was ruled out of the entire three-match ODI series against New Zealand starting on Sunday, January 11 in Vadodara.

Pant suffered a side strain during an intense net session on Saturday when a sharp ball from a throwdown specialist hit his ribs. It initially appeared to be a minor setback but soon turned serious and after medical examination the team management decided not to take any risks.

Now, as per the Times of India report, Pant has been officially ruled out of the entire ODI series against New Zealand, with Jurel replacing him in the Indian team. Jurel joined the Indian squad on Saturday night, just ahead of the start of the three-match ODI series against the Black Caps.
