Australian cricket legend David Warner was seen involved in an awkward field moment with Karachi Kings team director Haider Azhar. The Karachi Kings captain later issued a clarification on the incident in response to a fan on social media.

Karachi Kings qualified for the playoffs of the competition in the 10th edition of the PSL in 2025. However, they lost in Eliminator 1 against former champions, Lahore Qalandars.

However, Karachi Kings have made a great start to the competition with three consecutive wins, that too against key fronts. They won the game against defending champions Lahore Qalandars after the infamous ball tampering incident.

David Warner’s argument with the team director on the field

Australia’s legendary batsman and World T20 veteran David Warner has been seen captaining the PSL franchise Karachi Kings. The renowned T20 star has dominated world cricket throughout his career and continues to prove his excellence.

After leading Karachi Kings to a big win while chasing a target of 198 in Thursday’s game against Rawalpindi Pindiz, he was seen involved in an awkward conversation with some of his Karachi teammates, including Moeen Ali, prompting team director Haider Azhar to intervene.

The video of the incident quickly went viral on social media, especially because it came shortly after an equally strange incident between LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka and captain Rishabh Pant. Like the LSG boss, David Warner also looked disappointed with some of the actions of his players.

David Warner issued clarification regarding the scenes after the match

After the incident, which went viral on social media platforms, a fan asked Haider what exactly happened during the incident. However, before the team director could explain, the captain himself answered the question.

The fan asked, “What was the conversation going on here @HaiderAzhar, nice win Alhamdu Lillah, Sha Allah no one can stop us this season.”

Responding to the post, Warner said that he asked Haider to first go and shake hands with the players of the opposing team. He said, “I told Haider Azhar to go first and shake hands.”

Azam Khan leads Karachi Kings to third consecutive win in this PSL

After setting a huge target of 198 runs for Karachi Kings, the David Warner-led side performed amazingly while chasing the big target. Muhammad Wasim and Warner gave them a fast start.

While Wasim set the powerplay at full pace, Warner brought stability to the batting innings with his first half-century of the season. However, the match-winning innings belonged to wicketkeeper batsman Azam Khan, who played a truly special innings.

Azam scored 78 runs on 34 balls and batted at a strike rate of 217.65. Once again, Abbas Afridi helped Karachi win by hitting a six on the very first ball of the innings. Kings chased the target with 5 wickets and 4 balls remaining in the innings.
