Youth was inspired by India’s performance – Sanjay Manjrekar
In his column for Hindustan Times, former Indian batsman Sanjay Manjrekar said he was surprised about the performance given by a young Indian team against England. He said:
“I should confess, I too, like you, a foreign, a foreign, a complete test series of 5 test matches, each test match was going to last 5 days.
“First of all, my feeling about young India batsmen does not change, my chest is still pumped on the way (Yashasvi) Jaiswal, (Shubman) Gill, (KL) Rahul, (Rishabh) Pant, (Rabindra) Pant, (Ravindra) Jadeja and even (Washington Sunder) Washing Batting.”
“And we are not only talking about the results here … how these results were achieved, this staunch was through old -fashioned tests, extreme types of batting, a still defending for hours with bat, left the balls out of the balls, the ball after the ball, when the rest of the batsmen were trying to hit every ball 6, then it was not just unbearable, but it was also unbearable.”
Was the highest quality cricket? No, it was not – Sanjay Manjrekar
Sanjay Manjrekar further stated that it was a great test chain from India’s point of view as even in the absence of big names, visitors managed to give impressive performance. He said:
“All this happened in front of the packed audience, was ising on the cake! A great test series in front of a audience and a country that actually loves Test cricket. Yes, it was a great test chain in many ways, especially a team devoid of all big names for Indian fans, which was a very luxurious in almost every match, which was a very luxurious.
Sanjay Manjrekar, however, was against the idea of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, one of the best series in recent memory.
Sanjay Manjrekar felt that the highest quality of cricket was not on performance, especially due to weak bowling attacks of both teams. He said:
“Great series for fans, yes for Indian cricket lovers yes yes, great advertisement for Test cricket yes, but what was about quality? It was the highest quality cricket? No, it was not. It was not. It was not. It was not for the beginning, sorry for the bubble, it is one of the weakest bowling attacks from both sides that I have seen in a series, which has been seen in a series, which is seen in a series, which is seen in a series, Has seen in the relative teams. “
In particular, the choice of Mohammad Sirj, Ben Stokes, Josh Tongs, Jasprit Bumrah and Gas Atkinson looked great with the ball, but the other people continued to struggle.
