Leading in the five -match Test series, Jasprit Bumrah told the BCCI selection committee that it would only be available for three matches to manage his charge.

The BCCI agreed, and during the Squad’s announcement, Chief selector Ajit Aggarkar confirmed the development. Pesar played the first, third and fourth games, where he bowled 119.4 overs and took 14 wickets.

However, many cricket experts, including Sanjay Manjrekar, slammed him not to be available for all matches and if he was not fully fit, demanded his snob from the test team.

Pesar has been selected in India’s 15-member squad and will be seen in action next time in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025.

Anyone like Bumrah produces speed, not for a long time, but with a sheer strength – Balvinder Singh Sandhu

In his column for mid-day, Balvinder Singh Sandhu talked about the workload management of Jasprit Bumrah and highlighted how Paper tries a lot in his bowling, causing injuries.

“In these seven years, how many batsmen have gone without injury? How many have quietly dropped them out of a series? Anyone really questions them. But when it comes to a fast bowler, everyone seems to be ready to bounce. The truth is – fast bowling is cruel.”

“A person like Bumrah produces speed not with a long run-up, but with a sheer strength. And when you rely on strength, you are bound to wear your muscles and suffer tears. Compare Bumrah with kiny-akam, or kanishtis like Kapil Dev, Wasim Akram, Richard Hadly, or Malcolm Marchals.

Jaspreet Bumrah has been resting only 3.2 days on an average – Balvinder Singh Sandhu

Sandhu also used statistical figures of the last seven years to protect the Jasprit Bumrah and said that the life of the pacers is quite decorated.

“Jasprit Bumrah has only 3.2 days average for every sports day in the last seven years, while Mohammad Sirj has 3.5 days, and Mohammed Shami, 3.7.

“If we add first class or other domestic games, the workload would be very heavy. I did not have the data that means, we are only looking at half the picture. Thus, it is easy to criticize these pacers who have loaded for India for years, but when you look at the real numbers, there is a realization how the life of a fast bowler is punished.”
