Since exiting the team, Sam Curan has expressed his desire to return to England setup several times, and now he has finally returned to the T20I matches against South Africa and Ireland.

England and South Africa will go head-on in the three-match T20I series on September 10, 12, and 14 September, and after that, a second-string English team will visit Ireland for a three-match T20I series, which will be played in Dublin on 17, 19 and 21 September.

Sam Curan, who last played for England in November 2024, is all set to play under the coaching of Brendon McCullum for the first time.

The ECB has also announced that they have decided to provide very important comfort to star opening batsman Ben Docket, which is considered one of the world’s best all-format batsmen.

Ben Docket has been continuously playing cricket since Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, and his form has taken a big shock. He struggled to perform in the first two ODIs against Proteas, and even Stuart Broad asked the team management to rest.

The initial batsman will get an additional week for the Ashes 2025-26 and an additional week for Australia before the tour of England in New Zealand. In his absence, England will turn to Jamie Smith and Phil Salat to open an innings against Proteas.

Meanwhile, England has also decided to release Durham Seemar Matthew Pots from the T20i squad for the series against the Ireland National Cricket Team.

He has been allowed to go to Durham in the final round of the County Championship. This will allow the pacer to strengthen its case for the upcoming ash, where England will require a strong speed battery.

Ben Stokes, Brendon McCullum and Rob Ki recently faced a large-scale shock when Paes-Bauling all-rounder Jamie Overton decided to take a break from red-ball cricket indefinitely, and needs Matthew Pots and Sunny Baker’s choice.

In addition, a few days ago, the selectors of England added hundred 2025 players of Jordan Cox in the T20I team for the Ireland series.
