However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has maintained rumors and clarified that the captain has not suffered any serious injury. The all-rounder is expected to return to complete training soon and is set to lead his team against Oman before a high-profile match against India on Sunday (14 September).

Speaking at the pre-series press conference earlier this week, Salman Aga was assured about his team opportunities in the Asia Cup 2025. The middle-order batsman said that the team is playing good cricket and is excited for the tournament.

“I think we are playing good cricket, we started a few months ago. Things are coming together, as a team we are playing good cricket and looking forward for this tournament and everyone is very excited,” Salman said.

There is no favorite in T20 game – Salman

He was also asked whether the defending champion is a favorite for the India tournament. In response, Salman said: “There is no favorite in the T20 game. Match can change in place of 1 or 2 overs.”

Pakistan has not won the Asia Cup since 2012 and this year will be on Salman to guide the team. In the previous version, Pakistan crashed on the Super 4s stage and will be desperate to perform well in the ongoing version.
