Indian batsman Sai Sudarshan has certainly been in great form at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. After a brilliant innings of 87, the batsman now ruled the field with an incredible catch at short leg as Ravindra Jadeja dismissed West Indies opener John Campbell.
India dominated the West Indies throughout the tour and one of the main reasons for the West Indies’ batting collapse in the first Test was the Indians’ fast fielding. He has continued this in the second test also.
Sai Sudarshan took a strange catch
After declaring their innings at a score of 518, the Indians brought the West Indies batsmen out to bowl in the second session of the game. The pitch is looking quite flat so far and the bowlers are not expected to be very friendly.
After both the fast bowlers got no wickets in their first spell, Shubman Gill called on Ravindra Jadeja to play with the spinner. Jadeja took 4 wickets in the second innings of Ahmedabad Test.
In his very first over of the game, he dismissed West Indies opener John Campbell for 10 when the batsman hit a boundary off the first ball. The ball fell on length and Campbell swept hard, but he was not confident as the ball went to Sudarshan at short leg as he initially held the ball despite his hands on his shoulders and his head down.
The Indians were happy to win for the first time and so was Jadeja, who did not get a chance to play with the bat this time. However, Sudarshan himself looked uncomfortable as the ball hit his body and had a clear impact. Also, the Indian coaches including Morne Morkel were absolutely astonished to see Sai Sudarshan completing that catch.
