table of contents

Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar has been a part of the broader development of cricket across all formats throughout his career; However, even the world’s greatest batsman is not satisfied with the tremendous support batsmen are receiving in the modern T20 game.

So he has come to suggest some reforms that can bring back the lost sense of balance between batsmen and bowlers within the evolving standards of the game. T20 may be a batsman’s game, but there should be proper grounds for the bowlers to make a comeback.

Legendary player Sachin Tendulkar wants to eliminate ‘Impact Player’ rule from IPL

The great Indian player is now a new name added to the list of former cricketers who have not supported the “Impact Player” rule that has been introduced in the IPL in the last few seasons.

Tendulkar has shared that for the betterment of the format and the balance between the batting and bowling sides, the Impact Player rule should not be a part of the IPL or any other T20 league.

Sachin has set a target of increasing enthusiasm towards bowlers in T20 matches.

Sachin Tendulkar aims to provide equal opportunities to the bowlers to shine in the match. It is often seen that one or two bowlers sometimes perform much better than others in a match.

To promote such performances and get the best out of the bowlers, Sachin demands an extra over, i.e. five overs to be bowled by at least one bowler in an innings. This will increase the ability to take wickets and boost the morale of the bowler.

Two powerplays: one for batting and one for bowling – suggests the Little Master

The great cricketer understands the importance of equality and balance, and hence, Sachin Tendulkar has demanded that the powerplay should now be divided into two halves in T20 matches.

With the powerplay restriction in place for four overs, which favors the batsmen, the bowlers should also be given a powerplay of at least two overs where they can put out an extra fielder on the boundary.
