New Delhi. The US team may have had to face defeat in a high-scoring match against South Africa, but there was a time when the African team seemed to be breathing heavily in this match. The main reason for this is the sharp batting of America’s opening batsman Andrew Gaus and middle order batsman Harmeet Singh. At one time, both of them made a comeback in the match of the American team, which seemed to be on the verge of defeat. Gaus played an unbeaten inning of 85 runs on 27 balls. Whereas, Harmeet Singh scored 38 runs in 22 balls. Harmeet also took two wickets in two balls.
The American team needed 60 runs to win in the last four overs. Gaus was playing scoring half-centuries while Harmeet was also scoring runs at a fast pace. In the 16th over, both of them scored 10 runs with the help of a four. The 17th over was bowled by Tabrez Shamsi, which both of them bowled well together. In this over, with the help of three sixes, both of them scored a total of 22 runs. In this way, in the last two overs the team needed only 28 runs to win. It seemed that if they continued playing like this, the match could go to America’s throats.
Kagiso Rabada turned the match
South African captain Aiden Markram was seen in tension. He made his main bowler Kagiso Rabada bowl the 19th over instead of the 20th. This decision proved correct. He got Harmeet Singh caught out towards square leg on the very first ball. From here onwards the match was just a formality. A total of two runs came in the 19th over. Seven runs came in the last over. In this way South Africa won this match.
