Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Dasun Shanaka has confirmed that RR skipper Riyan Parag and veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will play the IPL 2026 Eliminator on Wednesday, even though they are battling injuries.
Both Parag and Jadeja have missed many matches in the tournament due to their injuries. Jadeja’s injury concerns have kept him out of India’s squad for the one-off Test and three-match ODI series against Afghanistan next month.
RR will play eliminator vs SRH
After finishing fourth in the IPL 2026 points table, Rajasthan Royals will take on third-placed Sunrisers Hyderabad in the eliminator on Wednesday. This match will be held at Maharaja Yadvendra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.
The loser of this match will have to bid goodbye to their IPL 2026 title hopes, while the winner will live to see another day. The winner of the Eliminator will face Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2 two days later at the same stadium.
The winner of Qualifier 2 will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final on May 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Riyan Parag’s team finished fourth on the points table with 16 points from 14 matches, while SRH had 18 points. RR won each of its first four matches, but suffered 6 losses in the next 8 matches. Eventually, they reached the top four with wins in their last two matches.

“He has some flaws, but he will play” – Shanaka
Dasun Shanaka spoke in the press conference on the eve of the match and gave important information about Ryan Parag and Ravindra Jadeja.
“She had some issues, but she’ll be OK, hopefully she’ll be OK,” he said.
During the same conversation, Shanaka praised Riyan Parag and the captaincy of the youngster. Shanaka himself has been the captain of the Sri Lankan national team.
Shanaka said, “Ryan is a young captain. He is also learning. He has done a great job as a captain this year. Many people criticize him, but I think he is a great leader for both RR and Team India.”
Ryan Parag and Ravindra Jadeja in IPL 2026
Both Parag and Jadeja have been hot and cold for much of the season. None of them have really set the tournament on fire, but they have made small, meaningful contributions.
With the bat, Riyan Parag has 272 runs in 12 matches at an average of 25 and strike rate of 183. He also has two half-centuries to his name. The RR captain has occasionally come out to bowl himself and has taken 2 wickets at an economy rate of 9.50.
Ravindra Jadeja is also enjoying making the most of his limited opportunities at RR. Jadeja has been used as a floater with the bat, sometimes to save the fall, and sometimes to make a quick impact at the death.
Overall, he has scored 209 runs at an average of 52.25, and at a strike rate of 137 with a high score of 45. With the ball, he has taken 8 wickets at an average of 28.50 and an economy of 8.14.
