Virat Kohli recently had a brief visit to his family in Delhi as he joined the Indian cricket team in the national capital before flying to Australia for the three-match ODI series starting in Perth from October 19.
After Virat Kohli left for Australia with the Indian cricket team, reports started doing the rounds on social media that the former Indian captain has handed over the general power of attorney for his Rs 80 crore Gurugram residence to his elder brother Vikas Kohli. Several media reports also claimed that Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma have decided to move to the UK permanently.

This legal move reportedly gives his brother Vikas full authority to manage the estate in various matters including financial, business and property-related matters. When settling abroad, people mainly hand over General Power of Attorney to their close people.

Following the viral claims, Vikas stepped in to address the rumors of the right-handed batsman moving to London permanently with a cryptic post. He criticized the media for spreading misinformation and fake news on social media.
Vikas Kohli posted on an Instagram Story on Friday (October 17): “I’m not surprised with so much misinformation and fake news going on these days… Some people are very free and have a lot of time to do that… All the best to you guys.”
Virat Kohli is gearing up for Australia ODI
Currently, Kohli is in Australia for the three-match ODI series starting on Sunday. This will be the former Indian captain’s first appearance for the Men in Blue after their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 triumph in Dubai last year. He last played the IPL 2025 final with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
Notably, Anushka and her two children, Vamika and Akay, have been living in London since earlier this year, with Kohli joining them during breaks from sports.

Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team was back in full swing on Friday afternoon and once again Virat Kohli became the center of attraction. After the optional training session on Thursday, all the players were actively involved in Friday’s practice, but Kohli’s energy and intensity completely overshadowed the rest of the players.
