When Ravindra Jadeja was out Chennai Super Kings (CSK) In ipl 2026This wasn’t just another match β it was personal. After spending over a decade with CSK, seeing him in the pink jersey of Rajasthan Royals (RR) felt unfamiliar to many fans. But on the field, Jadeja looked completely at ease and bowled a match-winning spell that reminded everyone of his class.
His 2 wickets for 18 runs in three overs played an important role. CSK were bundled out for just 127 runs.. More than numbers, the timing of his wickets was important. He broke the backbone of CSK’s middle-order and shifted the momentum firmly in Rajasthan’s favour.
Ravindra Jadeja emotionally reflects on CSK exit and strong start with RR
After the game, Jadeja did not shy away from addressing the emotional side of things. It was not easy to leave the franchise in which he made his legacy and he admitted it openly.
“At first, it was a bit difficult because I had played for CSK for about 12-13 years, so it was naturally an emotional time. But then I thought this is also a part of the journey.” He said.
Still, there was a sense of comfort in returning to Rajasthan β the team where it all started for him.
“And the good thing is that I am going back to the team with which I won my first IPL title. So for me, those memories were always special – after the Under-19 phase, that’s where I started my IPL journey, and in my very first year, we won the IPL title. That memory has always stayed with me,” He added.
It’s clear that despite the mixed emotions, Jadeja has approached this new chapter with a positive mindset.
Jadeja broke his silence on Shivam Dubey’s dismissal
The most talked about moment of the match came during Jadeja’s fight with Shivam Dubey. After being hit for a six, many expected Dubey to continue his aggressive approach. However, Jadeja had other plans.
He cleverly adjusted his line and fired the ball wide outside off. Dubey took the bait, went for another big shot and eventually found a fielder at long-off. It was a classic case of a bowler outclassing a batsman – and Jadeja knew exactly what he was doing.
Describing the moment of the mid-innings break, he said: “I know him for a long time. I was bowling to him in the nets. I know how he thinks and what he wants to do. I was ready for it and tried to bowl outside because I knew he would want to play big shots against me.”
In the same spell, Jadeja also dismissed Sarfaraz Khan, leaving CSK struggling at 57/6. From there, the innings never really recovered.
It showed how experience and awareness of the game can make a difference. Jadeja did not rely on pace or mystery β only on pure cricket intelligence and familiarity with his opponent’s mindset.
Jadeja reacts to his ‘gun’ celebration
Soon after dismissing Dube, Jadeja celebrated his now-viral ‘gun’ celebration. The gesture immediately attracted attention, with fans debating whether it was aimed at his former team. But Jadeja clarified the situation in his straightforward style.
βI used to do this celebration when I played for CSK, so I thought why not continue it here as well.β He said.
For her, it wasn’t about sending any message β it was simply about staying true to herself. Like his game, the celebration remains the same no matter which jersey he wears.
And speaking of jersey, Jadeja is enjoying his return to RR. When asked about coming back to pink after so many years, she replied with a smile: “I think pink looks good on me.”
That light-hearted comment perfectly summed up his current mindset β relaxed, confident and completely settled in his new environment.
Looking to the future, Jadeja made it clear that his focus is on contributing to his new team while continuing to develop.
“With those memories, and a positive mindset, I loved going there. I knew I would get to learn new things with a new group, and I would also be able to share my experience with the people there.”
For Rajasthan Royals (RR)This edition of Jadeja is a big encouragement. And for fans, it’s a reminder that although teams may change, true match winners always find a way to shine.
