Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, match number 69, has just concluded as Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Rajasthan Royals in the reverse fixture, and the Men in Pink did a double over the five-time champions, winning the game by 30 runs and qualifying for the playoffs, ending the campaigns of Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

After the win, the Rajasthan admin trolled Shreyas Iyer’s team while replying to his previous tweet when they lost to Delhi Capitals (DC) on their home ground. After the defeat, PBKS wrote, “Maaf karen bhai, aaj nahi! (Sorry brother, not today).” In response to this, after the win today, the Royals admin tweeted, “Panga na lo (don’t mess up).”

The incident was first triggered by a social media post shared by Rajasthan Royals after their win over Punjab Kings on April 28. The Royals had made reference to a viral tweet by Bollywood actor Salman Khan, which posted a video of Donovan Ferreira saying “sorry bhai, not today” while sitting near the Player of the Match trophy.

Left-arm spinner Harpreet Brar said that RR had uploaded several reels targeting Punjab Kings after their win. He also said that luck can change at any time and even after the defeat, Punjab Kings’ videos can go viral.

Rajasthan Royals troll PBKS after playoff hopes end

Brar warned that if Punjab Kings eventually beat the Royals, he would react harshly. Brar predicted that “Dal Bhati Churma” will burn that day and referring to RR’s “not today brother” comment, said that even if not today, Punjab Kings will get their time, and they should be ready.

However, after today’s win, Riyan Parag’s team has qualified for the playoffs and will face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the eliminator. After today’s win, he took a dig at PBKS whose qualification was in the hands of MI as they had to win the game to qualify. While posting a video of famous Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor, he trolled him.

Jofra Archer Hero for Royals

Talking about the match, MI won the toss and decided to bowl first. Yashasvi Jaiswal made a great start and scored 27 runs, but his opening partner Vaibhav Suryavanshi could not get going and was out on four runs. However, the former was the first wicket to fall in the match. Riyan Parag also returned to the pavilion early on 14 runs.

Dhruv Jurel and Dasun Shanaka then made a 45-run partnership, but in a situation of great confusion, the one who was looking good was run out, giving his wicket for 29 runs. However, Jofra Archer, the batsman, came to the rescue with 32, and Jurel made 38, as the Royals could only muster 205/8 in their 20 overs.

While chasing, MI were never able to chase down the target, they lost four quick wickets inside the power play and from there Suryakumar Yadav and Will Jacks took the game towards themselves. The latter was out for 33 off 18 balls, and SKY made 60, and captain Hardik Pandya made 34, as they fell short.
